Heritage Day April 20. Will you take the Factory Tour, visit St. David’s or look at somewhere further afield?

The Council’s inaugural Heritage day will be held on Saturday April 20. It is hoped that members of the community will take the opportunity to visit some of the sites of historical interest in the district and take up some of the events offered on the day. The list of events across the district can be found here

Councillor Beavis offered an overview in the Cambridge News. https://www.cambridgenews.nz/2024/04/a-day-to-learn-our-history/

In our community Harry Mowbray has offered to host Matangi Factory Site Tours (meet at Bootleg Brewery), 10.30 and 1 p.m., and Rev Ovidiu Motofelea will open St David’s church to visitors, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. At the church we will also have information on the school and other sites of historical interest in the local area. If you want to know more or have information to share please meet us there.
