If you have been past the Matangi Hall recently you may have noticed all the scaffolding etc. 

Roofing Renovators (a Matangi based Company based at the Factory site) are reroofing the Hall. The iron although original has been re nailed in the past but is now 60 years old and we have suspected there are some leaks. Roofing Renovators have stripped and replaced with new iron and there was evidence of some leaks so we have got this just in time. There was some rotting in the purlins and these were beefed up at the same time.

There just remains some tidying up to do – flashings and spouting so hopefully it will last another 60 years.

Thanks to the team working in the heat and getting it done while the hall is not in full use.
