With ANZAC Day falling within the School Holidays Matangi School will acknowledge the importance of the day with students and families on Tuesday April 9. In preparation the Community Poppy net has been added to the school fence – now with many more poppies than in former years – many created by students who have learned to knit or crochet them.
The contribution of Matangi residents to World War 1 can be found here.
Building on the move – Between the 10th and 12th April the Rec. Centre/School Hall will be moved from its roadside location to the sports field. Please avoid the Jack Foster Reserve on those days especially 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Advice received :
“Project Overview:
We are currently working on a construction project at Matangi School, involving the relocation of the
existing school hall to make way for the exciting new Totara Classroom Block. The relocation of the
hall is scheduled to take place between the 10th and 12th of April 2024.
Anticipated Disruption:
During the relocation process, there may be some disruption to the normal activities around the
school premises. We anticipate that the majority of the disturbance will occur between 9:00am and
1:00pm on each day. We understand the importance of minimizing the impact on the school and the
community, and we will make every effort to complete the relocation efficiently.
