Invitation to Community Liaison Group meeting for the Southern Links project

As below:

Hello,

The NZ Transport Agency would like to invite you to attend a Community Liaison Group meeting for the Southern Links project.

There are two meetings being held, one for those affected by the project in the Waipa District (west of the Waikato River) and one for the Waikato District (east of the river).

The Waipa District meeting will be held at the Hamilton Airport Hotel on Tuesday 28 November from 5pm to 6pm. The Waikato District meeting will be held at the Tamahere Community Centre on Wednesday 29 November from 5pm to 6pm.

At both meetings we will have staff from the Transport Agency and our consultants to talk about the preliminary environmental and ecological work that is under way and answer any project-related questions you may have.

The Transport Agency has established Community Liaison Groups under the conditions of our designation as a way of keeping the community informed of progress and provide an opportunity for the community and individuals to raise any issues with the project team.

It is important to reiterate ahead of these meetings that no final decisions have been made about building Southern Links. This meeting is to update the community on progress to date and the next steps for Southern Links. Please note the meeting is open to anyone who would like to attend.

We will hold these meetings at least annually until construction begins then they will be held at least every three months.

Further information about the project is available on our website www.nzta.govt.nz/southern-links or you can email southernlinks@nzta.govt.nz.

Regards

Simon Brandon
