Covid 19 notices re Support to those in need and the Matamata cluster

Support to those in need

Please ask for help if you or others you know are unable to access support. There are many people who want to help you.

Freephone 0800 800 405 has recently been set up by Waikato Civil Defence and Emergency Management Group for anyone in our district struggling to get food, groceries, medication or other household goods and services.

The service is available between 7am and 7pm daily, but does not replace other government helplines already in operation.

These services are intended for those facing hardship and will particularly assist the disabled, at risk groups, and people without access to their own transport.

Matamata Cluster

Important message from Waikato District Health Board: A cluster of COVID-19 cases in Matamata can be linked to a St Patrick’s Day celebration at the Redoubt Bar.

If you have symptoms of COVID-19 you should contact Healthline on 0800 358 5453 or your GP and visit a Community Based Assessment Centre (CBAC). You’ll find these listed here: https://www.waikatodhb.health.nz/…/covid-19-in-waikato/cbac/ The closest to Matangi is Claudelands Event Centre Open daily from 8am to 8pm.
Entrance Gate 3, Brooklyn Road, Hamilton Drive

It’s important to know whether there has been spread beyond Matamata so if you attended the Redoubt bar in the previous two weeks, or you had close contact with anyone who had, please make this known.
